Royal Obidos Golf is 6.692m (approx. 7.300 yards) from the back tees, and represents a true test of golf for players of all levels.
The first hole, a generous right handed dogleg, heads north, setting up a spectacular combination of holes overlooking the lagoon (Lagoa de Óbidos). The feature hole of the front nine is the 3rd, a 144m Par 3 off the yellow tees to an island green, with the stunning Óbidos lagoon in the background.
The second nine holes overlook the Atlantic Ocean. Six of the holes meander between an intricate ecosystem of lakes interconnected by cascading streams. The highlight of the back nine is the 18th, a 490m Par 5 off the yellow tees, with a panoramic over the back nine, the clubhouse and the Ocean beyond.
A challenging and beautifully designed course, it sleekly winds its way through the entire resort, creating a framework in which the various properties and facilities reside. Designed to merge effortlessly into the natural surroundings, whilst making innovative use of the local terrain, the championship course offers something to golfers of all levels. “My philosophy is to not only have a championship course with difficulty for professional players, but also one that can have a big challenge for, and can be enjoyed by, the club golfer,” Ballesteros said.
Royal Obidos offers free transfers between its golf course and Praia del Rey and Bom Sucesso. It is necessary to pre-book these transfers.

Restaurant and Bars:
The clubhouse offers a restaurant with a variety of menus available, two bars, lounge. Sitting out on the generous terrace, visitors to Royal Óbidos will enjoy spectacular views of the golf course and the cascading lakes and streams, and some truly wonderful sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean.
Dress Code:
• Soft-spikes required.
• Jeans, tennis shorts, swimming trunks and t-shirts are not allowed on the golf course and/or Driving Range Academy
Transfers:
Royal Óbidos has a shuttle service totally free-of-charge between Royal Óbidos and Praia D’El Rey, as well as Royal Óbidos and Bom Sucesso, for all clients who are booked to play golf at Royal Óbidos. In order for us to guarantee the service, it must be pre-booked with a minimum notice of 24 hours.
